From initial ideas and sketches to developing the final artwork, I handle every part of the design process. I create everything myself - shaping your brand’s identity to connect with your audience and delivering versatile brand assets you can use across websites, print, and social media.
Hi Kevin, How are you all? Are you still doing graphic design? If so, may I ask a rather big favour?
Please ask. I'd be delighted to help. Happy Easter x
OK then...we're putting out a Ten Year Anniversary single for our Eurovision song and we'll have to send high res artwork to Spotify etc.
Sure. No problem :)
Thanks. I forgot to say we've left it all to the last minute so only have a few days to get this done. Sorry x
It's always the way. Leave it with me...
So what else can I do ?
Beyond all this, I’m regularly approached with unique creative challenges—often projects I’ve never tackled before. This section of my website showcases a selection of these bespoke projects, highlighting my versatility and commitment to bringing any creative vision to life.
"Can I do Spotify artwork?"
Recently, I was asked to design the Spotify cover art for a newly written and produced song. The request came from David Mindel, a prolific songwriter known for his extensive career in music, including writing songs for the Eurovision Song Contest and contributing to Top of the Pops hits.
David Mindel’s impressive track record includes co-writing the UK’s Eurovision entry “Still in Love With You” for Electro Velvet in 2015, as well as earlier entries and finalists for the contest stretching back to the 1970s and 1980s. His work has also featured on Top of the Pops, the legendary BBC music show that showcased the biggest chart hits of the era.
I'm good at these one-off requests, no matter how unfamiliar the territory might seem. My approach is simple: I research what’s required, apply my design expertise, and use my technical skills to deliver exactly what’s needed—whether it’s for Spotify, YouTube, or any other platform.
Hey Kevin
I sent Andy Spence your design as he did the others. He replied:
"I love the design!!! Kevin has done you and Electro Velvet proud."
I agree. It went to the record company this morning. The first time all parties agreed on anything.
I'm very grateful. Have a great Bank Holiday weekend.

"Can I layout text for a book and design the cover?"
Borders and Boundaries — Book Design Project
I had the privilege of designing the cover and interior pages for Borders and Boundaries, a compelling book by Dr Gill Martin. Although I’ve completed many print projects before, this was my first time working on something as extensive as a 200-page book. I took on the task by thoroughly researching the requirements for long-form publishing and applying my design and technical skills to ensure a professional and cohesive result.
About the Author
Dr Gill Martin’s career spans community development in both statutory and third sector organisations, university lecturing, and research in community health in London. Since relocating to York, she has dedicated over twenty years to supporting refugees and asylum seekers as a therapist and trainer, and she serves as a trustee for a London-based refugee-focused organisation.
About the Book
Borders and Boundaries offers a critical exploration of refugee mental health in Yorkshire, set against the backdrop of international and national policies. Through a collection of real-life stories, Dr Martin paints a vivid picture of the challenges faced by some of society’s most vulnerable individuals—those fleeing violence, navigating the complexities of the UK asylum system, and adjusting to life in a new, often unfamiliar environment.

“I couldn’t be happier with the design work for Borders and Boundaries. From the very first draft to the final printed book, the attention to detail and understanding of the subject matter were outstanding.
— Dr Gill Martin
Design Approach
My design for the book aimed to:
-
Capture the gravity and humanity of the subject matter with a cover that is both striking and respectful.
-
Create clear, accessible content pages that guide the reader through personal stories and policy analysis.
-
Support the narrative flow with thoughtful typography and layout choices, making the complex subject matter approachable and engaging.
Once again, I was asked to take on something outside my usual scope, and by combining research, creativity, and attention to detail, I delivered a result that more than met expectations.
